Personal Injury Assessment
Quantify Intersegmental Motion for Whiplash Associated Disorders. Generate AMA-compliant reports that provide objective evidence for ligamentous instability/laxity. Determine permanent injury based on measurements of flexion, extension, and neutral lateral cervical spine views.
Professional Use Cases
See how our precision DICOM analysis transforms your diagnostic workflow and improves clinical documentation of permanent ligamentous injury.

Upper Cervical Analysis
Assess C0–C1, C1-C2 stability using APOM neutral and lateral bending radiographs. Precisely measure atlas displacement and asymmetrical motion to identify objective findings consistent with upper cervical ligamentous instability, including involvement of the alar and accessory ligaments.

Full Spinal Analysis
Visualize biomechanical motion of the cervical, thoracic, or lumbar spine to validate clinical outcomes, patient progress, and determine permanent impairment. Generate detailed ligament laxity reports, enhancing clinical documentation for one of the most overlooked diagnoses in personal injury cases.

Common Questions
Learn more about how DICOMetrics supports professional radiologic workflows and structured reporting.
What does this software do?
This platform generates precise, defensible CRMA (Computerized Radiographic Mensuration Analysis) reports from DICOM X-ray images. It quantifies intersegmental motion, including translation and angular differences, and produces a structured, exportable report suitable for clinical and medico-legal use.
What type of images are required?
You must upload DICOM-format radiographs.
For standard spinal analysis:
-
Minimum: Flexion, extension and neutral lateral views
For upper cervical analysis:
-
AP open mouth (neutral)
-
AP open mouth with right and left lateral bending
Non-DICOM formats (JPEG, PNG, screenshots) are not supported due to lack of calibration data.
Why is DICOMETRICS SUPERIOR TO OTHER aPPS?
-
Works directly with original DICOM radiographs rather than converted JPGs, PNGs, screenshots, or other standard image formats, preserving the imaging data needed for precise measurements.
-
An intuitive, physician-focused workflow eliminates complicated setup and extensive software training. Upload, plot, analyze, and generate.
-
DICOMetrics streamlines the entire process: DICOM image → measurements → calculated findings → CRMA report → PDF.
-
Reports focus on the measurements, findings, clinical significance, and supporting methodology that matter—without unnecessary pages of repetitive or long-winded content.
-
Findings are presented clearly so the finished report can be understood not only by physicians, but also by attorneys, adjusters, patients, and others without a medical or technical background.
-
Automated calculations and standardized reporting help reduce manual calculations and user variability while producing consistent documentation from case to case.
Measurements are calibrated directly from DICOM metadata (e.g., Pixel Spacing), ensuring high dimensional accuracy. This removes variability introduced by magnification or display scaling and provides consistent, reproducible results.
Are the reports compliant with AMA Guides?
Yes. Reports are structured to align with methodologies described in:
-
AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment (5th and 6th Editions)
-
Clinical Biomechanics of the Spine by White & Panjabi
-
Essentials of Skeletal Radiology by Yochum & Rowe
Why is DICOM required instead of standard image files?
DICOM files contain embedded metadata, including pixel spacing and imaging parameters. This allows the software to perform true millimeter-based measurements, which is not possible with standard image formats.
How accurate are the measurements?
